The platform's founder, Lucas Harding, developed an early interest in technology thanks to the support of his engineering parents, who encouraged him to explore the field. His studies at MIT exposed him to the world of decentralized networks and blockchain, inspiring him to consider how this technology could be used to address real-world issues.
It became evident that traditional mining was beset with significant challenges, including high barriers to entry and energy-intensive processes. Lucas began searching for a more efficient and environmentally friendly solution that would make mining accessible to a wider audience. The NearMP platform was developed to provide users with an accessible and straightforward way to engage in cloud mining, without the need for in-depth technical expertise.
Our core principle is simplicity and accessibility. We aim to provide a convenient and straightforward way for anyone to participate in cryptocurrency mining, using surplus computing resources from around the world to reduce costs and minimize environmental impact.

His experience at Google and AWS enabled the optimisation of NearMP's cloud infrastructure, ensuring high system performance.
